Fuel

Petrol engines

All models except those with 132 kW (AJQ) engines: Unleaded gasoline minimum RON 95. Use of unleaded gasoline minimum RON 91 is permitted, but engine power will be reduced.

Models with 132 kW (AJQ) engines: Unleaded gasoline minimum RON

98. Use of unleaded gasoline minimum RON 95 is permitted, but engine power will be reduced.

Diesel engines

Diesel fuel to DIN EN 1) 590, cetane number minimum 49. Biodiesel fuel to DIN 51 606 RME (rapeseed methyl ester). Contains almost no sulfur. Therefore, when RME burns, almost no sulfur dioxide (SO2) is released.

Exhaust gases contain less:

– carbon monoxide, – hydrocarbons, – soot.

A slight loss of power and an increase in fuel consumption may occur.

In cold weather, mainly fill with diesel fuel. RME may be used at temperatures down to –10°C. Below –10°C, add diesel fuel in a 1:1 ratio to prevent the RME fuel from gelling.

Diesel engine operation in winter conditions

When summer diesel fuel is used at temperatures below 0°C, engine misfiring may occur due to the fuel thickening caused by paraffin precipitation.

Therefore, use winter diesel fuel. Depending on the brand, winter diesel fuel ensures trouble-free operation at temperatures from –15°C to –22°C.

Do not add gasoline or similar thinners to diesel fuel.

With poor fuel quality, it may be necessary to drain water from the fuel filter water separator more often than specified in the maintenance schedule.

To drain water, unscrew the drain plug at the bottom of the filter by hand. Water accumulation in the filter may cause engine malfunctions. Specific fuel consumption per 93/116/EG, l/100 km

Values for your vehicle are shown on the label in the spare wheel well.

DOCUMENTATION

The vehicle documentation folder contains the service booklet, along with the owner's manual. In addition, the folder contains the brochure ‘On the Road’ with telephone numbers for obtaining qualified assistance in Europe, if required.

Depending on the model and equipment, various additional instructions may also be supplied (for example, for the radio system).

Correct operation of the vehicle, combined with regular care and maintenance, helps preserve it and is, in many cases, also a condition for acceptance of warranty claims.

Service Booklet

The service booklet contains, in particular:

– basic data for your vehicle; – fuel consumption and carbon monoxide exhaust emission values; – maintenance interval information; – maintenance schedule.

The service booklet also provides documented proof that the maintenance schedule has been carried out. This may be of great importance when making warranty claims.

The service booklet must be presented each time you visit an Audi service center.
