Central locking system1)

The central locking system allows you to lock or unlock all doors, the fuel filler flap and the luggage compartment lid at the same time.

You can lock and unlock the vehicle from outside, at the driver's or front passenger door / luggage compartment lid, either with the key or with the remote control locking*. 1) The Audi Service Center can equip the central locking system with an additional level of protection. 2) Not possible on vehicles with remote control locking*.

Unlocking the Vehicle

To unlock the vehicle from the doors, turn the key to the unlock position (to the left).

At the same time, all door lock buttons are pushed up and the anti-theft alarm system* is deactivated.

To open the doors, lift the handle.

Locking the vehicle

To lock the vehicle, turn the key inserted in the driver's / front passenger door lock to the lock position (to the right). This locks the doors and the luggage compartment lid, and activates the anti-theft alarm system*.

The anti-theft alarm system* is ready when the turn signals flash briefly.

Interior lights that are in the door-contact-activated position are switched off.

CAUTION

The driver's door cannot be locked while open. It can only be locked after it has been closed, and only that door individually. This prevents accidental locking of the vehicle.

When locking, all door lock buttons must be pressed in. If a button on any door remains in the raised position, open that door again and close it properly.

On the driver's side, the central locking system only operates after the door is closed.

If the central locking system is faulty, each lock can still be operated in normal mode, up to and including the fuel filler flap. Emergency unlocking of the fuel filler flap is described in the subsection Refueling and emergency unlocking of the fuel filler flap.

Heated door locks

Heating is activated by briefly lifting the door handle when the outside air temperature is below +5 °C.

The heating duration is set automatically depending on the actual temperature. The maximum heating duration is approximately 50 seconds. Do not extend the heating time by holding the handle in the raised position.

After the heating cycle ends, it can be restarted by lifting the door handle again.

Comfort closing

Hold the key in the lock position, or press and hold the lock button of the remote control* until all windows and the sliding/tilting sunroof are fully closed. When the key returns to its normal position or the transmitter button is released, the closing process stops immediately.

When unlocking the vehicle with the key from the driver's / front passenger door, all windows can be opened at the same time. To do this, turn the key to the unlock position and hold it, or press and hold the unlock button of the remote control* until the windows reach the desired position.

Anti-theft alarm*

Standard equipment

The anti-theft alarm is designed to prevent break-in and theft attempts. If someone enters the vehicle, the system emits audible and visual alarm signals.

On a locked vehicle, the system monitors the following possible points of intrusion: · engine compartment · luggage compartment · doors · Audi radio system · passenger compartment · ignition.

The anti-theft alarm is automatically activated when the vehicle is locked with the key inserted in the driver's or front passenger's door lock or luggage compartment lock, or with the remote control, and is deactivated when the vehicle is unlocked. The system enters standby mode approximately 30 seconds after the vehicle is locked.

The system confirms that it is ready for operation, and that the doors, hood and luggage compartment lid are properly closed, by flashing the turn signal lights when the vehicle is locked.

If there is no light signal, check and, if necessary, properly close the doors, hood and trunk. If this is done with the system already switched on, it will confirm correct closing by flashing the turn signal lights.

Before leaving the vehicle, make sure that all lock buttons are pressed in, and that all windows, doors and the sliding roof panel* are closed.

CAUTION

When locking the vehicle from the trunk side with the driver's door open, the anti-theft alarm does not activate. It is only activated after the driver's door is closed.

LEDs

After locking the vehicle, the LEDs located next to the door lock button flash fast and then slower for approximately 30 seconds. This indicates that the anti-theft alarm system, including the interior monitoring, is armed. If the LEDs remain lit continuously for approximately 30 seconds instead of flashing, this indicates a malfunction of the interior monitoring function.

контроля салонаSwitching off the interior monitoring function

The interior monitoring switch is located on the door pillar.

PROCEDURE

1. Switch off the interior monitoring function when locking the vehicle if there is a possibility that the alarm will be triggered by animals or moving objects inside the vehicle.

2. Open the driver's door.

3. Press the switch located on the door pillar. The indicator in the switch lights up. In addition, the LED located next to the door lock button lights up for approximately 3 seconds.

4. Lock the vehicle.

5. The LEDs located next to the door lock buttons flash fast for 3 seconds. 30 seconds after locking, the LEDs start flashing slowly.

6. When the vehicle is locked the next time, the interior monitoring function is automatically reactivated.

Export version for certain countries (e.g. Great Britain)

The anti-theft alarm is designed to prevent break-in and theft attempts. If someone enters the vehicle, the system emits audible and visual alarm signals.

When the vehicle is locked, the system monitors the following potential points of intrusion: · engine compartment · trunk · doors · Audi radio system · vehicle interior · ignition

Locking the vehicle

When locking the vehicle, the system confirms that it is armed and that the doors, hood and trunk are properly closed by flashing the turn signal lights.

LEDs

After locking the vehicle, the LEDs located next to the door lock buttons flash fast and then slower for approximately 30 seconds. This indicates that the anti-theft alarm system, including the interior monitoring, is armed. If the LEDs remain lit continuously for approximately 30 seconds instead of flashing, this indicates a malfunction of the interior monitoring function.

Unlocking the Vehicle

When unlocking the vehicle, the anti-theft alarm is deactivated only when using the remote control. The vehicle locks automatically if it is not opened within 60 seconds after the remote control signal is transmitted.

When unlocking the vehicle with the key from the driver's door side, all other doors, the trunk and the fuel filler flap remain locked. To deactivate the anti-theft alarm, insert the key into the ignition lock and switch on the ignition within 15 seconds after opening the door. Otherwise, the alarm will be triggered.

If the front passenger door or trunk is unlocked and opened with the key, the anti-theft alarm is triggered immediately.

The alarm is switched off only after the door / trunk is closed or after its cycle has ended.

CAUTION

When unlocking the vehicle with the key from the driver's door, the central locking is fully operational only after the ignition is switched on.
