Windshield and rear window wipers and washers

The windshield wipers and washers operate only with the ignition switched on.

In freezing weather, before switching on the wipers for the first time, check that the blades are not frozen to the glass!

The washer jets are heated when the ignition is switched on.

Windshield

1 Single-stroke mode 0 Off 2 Intermittent mode. The wiper interval can be adjusted in steps using control (A). The interval duration in each step also depends on vehicle speed. 3 Slow speed 4 Fast speed 5 Wipers and washers operate together in automatic mode

Pulling the lever toward the steering wheel operates the windshield wipers and washers. With the headlights on, holding the lever in this position for more than 1 second also activates the headlight cleaning system*.

Release the lever to switch off the washers. The wipers continue to run for approximately 4 seconds.

Rear window

1 Intermittent mode

Push the lever forward; the wiper operates every 6 seconds. The rear wiper switches off when the lever returns to its original position.

2 Wiper and washer operate together in automatic mode

Push the lever forward; the wiper and washer operate. Release the lever to switch off the washer. The wiper continues to run for approximately 4 seconds.

Headlight cleaning system*

When the headlights are on and each time the windshield washers are operated, the headlight lenses are also washed.

Each time the system is operated, the headlight washer nozzles extend outward under water pressure.

Regularly, for example when refueling, remove non-washable dirt (insect residue) from the headlight lenses.

To keep the system operational in winter conditions, clear snow from the washer nozzle openings and remove any ice using aerosol de-icer.
