Cruise Control

~3min read

GENERAL INFORMATION

Cruise control can maintain any set speed starting from approximately 40 km/h, within the limits of engine power and engine braking. This means you do not need to keep your foot on the accelerator pedal, which is especially convenient on long trips.

Note that the capabilities of cruise control are limited when driving in mountains. When coasting down steep grades, and under certain conditions, the vehicle may accelerate above the set speed.

CAUTION

Do not use cruise control in heavy traffic or on slippery roads (ice, gravel, wet road surfaces).

Do not shift to neutral at speeds above 40 km/h with cruise control on without pressing the clutch pedal. Otherwise, engine speed may increase sharply, which can damage the engine under certain circumstances!

Cruise control is operated by lever A and button B on the turn signal and headlight stalk.

Switching On

Switch the system on by moving lever A to the ON position.

Speed programming

When the desired speed is reached, press and release button B (SET). The set speed is maintained.

The speed can be increased above the set value by pressing the accelerator pedal. After the pedal is released, the system returns to the previously set speed.

This does not apply if the set speed is exceeded by more than 10 km/h for over 5 minutes. In this case, set the speed again.

Changing the speed

Reducing Speed

The set speed can be reduced by pressing button B.

Each short press of the button reduces the speed by 1.5 km/h. Holding the button pressed reduces the speed automatically. When the button is released, the current speed is stored.

If the button is released at a speed below 40 km/h, the memory data is erased. In this case, after reaching a speed above 40 km/h, set the speed again using button B.

Increasing Speed

The set speed can be increased by moving lever A to the RES position without pressing the accelerator pedal. Each short press of the lever increases the speed by 1.5 km/h. Holding the lever pressed increases the speed automatically. When the lever is released, the current speed is stored.

Temporary deactivation of the system

The system is temporarily deactivated when the brake or clutch pedal is pressed, or when lever A is moved to the OFF position (without locking).

The speed programmed up to that moment is stored in memory. To resume the previously set speed, move lever A to the far left position (RES) after releasing the brake or clutch pedal.

If no speed was set before the temporary deactivation, set a new speed with lever A in the following way:

On vehicles with a gasoline engine, briefly move lever A to the far left position, then move it left again and hold it until the desired speed is reached. On vehicles with a diesel engine, push lever A fully to the left and hold it until the desired speed is reached. The speed is stored when the lever is released.

CAUTION

Set the cruise control speed only if it is not too high for the actual driving conditions.

Complete deactivation of the system

The system is fully deactivated by moving lever A fully to the right (locked OFF position), or by switching off the ignition when the vehicle is stationary.
