Replacing Trim Strip

Trim strips are attached to the lower body panels with plastic clips.

PROCEDURE

1. Remove the trim strips by hand or with a wide plastic wedge.
2. As a rule, plastic bushings with clips come off together with the trim strip. Therefore, first remove the bushings from the pins and insert them into the holes of the corresponding body parts.
3. Straighten any deformed trim strips before installation.
4. Align the trim strip with its clips to the holes and secure it. If necessary, tap with the palm of your hand.

Replacing Emblem

PROCEDURE

1. Remove the emblem from the body using thin nylon thread. To make it easier, lubricate the thread and attach its ends to wooden blocks.

2. Remove adhesive residue with alcohol or an adhesive cleaner, such as “3M Adhesive Cleaner”.
3. Heat the new emblem with a hair dryer to approximately +50°C, remove the protective paper, and press it onto the body for 10 s.

Replacing BMW Emblem

PROCEDURE

1. Carefully remove the BMW emblem with a screwdriver. To avoid damaging the finish, use cloth.
2. Before installing the emblem, apply sealant to its inner surface.
