Precautions - while driving the vehicle

~2min read

As the driver of the vehicle, you are responsible for your own safety, as well as the safety of your passengers and other road users. To avoid undesirable consequences, you must fully concentrate on operating the vehicle. Most vehicle accidents occur due to driver inattention or distraction.

While driving, the driver's full attention must be focused on the road, other road users, and other relevant objects.

Today, the use of mobile phones is recognized as one of the most common causes of driver distraction. Studies have shown that using mobile phones while driving increases the risk of road accidents.

At least one scientifically based study has shown that using mobile communication systems, both conventional and those equipped with hands-free devices, increases the risk of a collision by 400%.

Using other types of telephones, radio transmitters, and other electronic devices, such as computers, organizers, electronic games, video devices, GPS systems, and other similar navigation aids, increases the risk of a collision.

We do not recommend using any devices while driving the vehicle.

In many countries, legislation has been adopted or is under consideration that prohibits the use of mobile phones not equipped with hands-free devices while driving.

For safe driving, you must maintain full concentration, correctly assess the road situation, and use common sense. While driving, avoid or minimize distractions. The following actions are distracting:

• answering calls on a mobile or car phone;
• making calls on a mobile or car phone;
• adjusting the seat, steering wheel, and mirrors;
• using any electronic devices;
• referring to a map or other information materials;
• fastening and unfastening the seat belt;
• looking for small coins when approaching a toll booth;
• other actions that distract attention from the task of safe vehicle operation.

Such actions significantly increase the risk of a road accident, which may result in injury or death.

Whenever possible, avoid such actions and perform them before driving or when the vehicle is stopped in a safe place.
