Traction Control System

~1min read

The Traction Control System (TCS) is an advanced system that helps maintain wheel grip on slippery roads.

When one drive wheel is on a firm surface and the other is on a slippery surface, the wheel on the slippery surface spins and the vehicle remains stationary.

The TCS prevents this condition by alternately braking and releasing the front wheels.

When the ignition is switched on, the TCS indicator illuminates together with the ABS malfunction indicator and goes out after 3 seconds.

If the traction control system malfunctions, the TCS indicator remains illuminated. In this case, contact an authorized Chevrolet dealer as soon as possible.

Tires and ABS/TCS The tire size is important for proper ABS/TCS operation. When replacing tires, use tires of the same size, construction and load rating as the original tires.

Always replace both tires on the same axle, and only with tires having the same Treadwear Performance Code (TPC). Using other tire sizes or types may significantly affect ABS/TCS operation.
