Driving Tips - Fuel Economy Recommendations
Fuel economy depends mainly on driving style.
The distance that can be covered on one liter of fuel depends on driving habits, route and trip duration.
To achieve maximum fuel economy:
• Accelerate gradually.
• Avoid unnecessary engine idling.
• Keep the engine properly tuned.
• Do not over-rev the engine.
• Use air conditioning only when necessary.
• Reduce speed on rough roads.
• Maintain the recommended tire pressure.
• Maintain a safe distance from other vehicles to avoid collisions during sudden braking. This also extends the service life of the brake pads and linings.
• Do not carry unnecessary cargo.
• Do not rest your foot on the brake pedal while driving unnecessarily.
• Follow the vehicle maintenance schedule in the maintenance manual and the specifications given in this manual.
Fuel metering in a modern engine is performed with high precision and exhaust gas composition feedback. The proper operation of this system is also monitored by electronic self-diagnostics.
Analysis of owner complaints about increased fuel consumption shows that the vast majority of such cases are related to operating the engine in a non-optimal mode (speed too low or too high), driving with frequent hard acceleration and braking, driving in traffic jams, extremely low ambient temperatures, and other unfavorable factors, with the vehicle in fully serviceable condition.
