Parking assistance

~3min read

For more information, refer to the General Recommendations for driving and manoeuvring aids.

Conduite

This system detects and signals the proximity of obstacles (e.g. pedestrian, vehicle, tree, barrier) using sensors located in the bumper.

Rear parking assist

► Engage reverse gear to switch the system on (confirmed by an audible signal).

The system is switched off when reverse gear is disengaged.

Audible alert

Conduite

The system signals the presence of obstacles within the detection zone of the sensors.

Proximity information is given by an intermittent audible signal, whose frequency increases as the vehicle gets closer to the obstacle.

When the distance between the vehicle and the obstacle becomes less than about thirty centimetres, the audible signal becomes continuous.

The sound from the speaker (right or left) indicates which side the obstacle is on.

Adjusting the audible signal

Depending on version, with the CITROËN Connect Radio or CITROËN Connect Nav system, pressing this button opens the window for adjusting the audible signal volume.

Graphic display

Conduite

It supplements the audible signal by displaying segments on screen whose position represents the distance between the obstacle and the vehicle (white: far; orange: close; red: very close).

When very close to the obstacle, the "Danger" symbol is displayed on screen.

Front parking assistance

In addition to rear Park Assist, front Park Assist is activated when an obstacle is detected at the front and the vehicle speed is less than 10 km/h.

Front Park Assist is interrupted if the vehicle stops for more than 3 seconds while moving forward, if no obstacle is detected any longer, or as soon as the vehicle speed exceeds 10 km/h.

The sound from the speaker (front or rear) indicates the position of the obstacle relative to the vehicle, at the front or rear.

Deactivation / Activation

Settings are made via the Driving / Vehicle menu on the touchscreen.

The status of the function is stored when the ignition is switched off.

Conduite

The rear Park Assist function is automatically deactivated when a trailer or bicycle carrier is connected to a towing device fitted in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.

In this case, a trailer graphic is displayed behind the representation of the vehicle.

Park Assist is deactivated during the parking space measurement phase of the Park Assist function.

For more information on the Park Assist function, refer to the corresponding section.

When the vehicle is started, the graphic and audible aids are only available after the touch screen has started up.

Operating limits

The vehicle tilting when the boot is heavily loaded may affect distance measurements.

Malfunction

In the event of a malfunction, when reverse gear is engaged, one of these warning lamps comes on in the instrument cluster, accompanied by a message display and a short beep.

If the malfunction occurs while Park Assist is in use, the function is switched off.

Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
