Citroen C5 Aircross (2017- 2024) - Owner's Manual

Cruise control - Specific recommendations

~2min read

Cruise control does not guarantee compliance with the maximum authorised speed or the safe distance between vehicles. The driver remains responsible for driving the vehicle.

For everyone's safety, activate cruise control only when traffic conditions allow you to drive at a constant speed and maintain a sufficient safe distance.

Stay alert while cruise control is active. If one of the set speed adjustment buttons is held down, the vehicle speed may change very rapidly.

On a steep downhill, cruise control does not prevent the vehicle from exceeding the set speed. Brake if necessary to control the vehicle speed.

On a steep uphill or when towing, the set speed may not be reached or maintained.

Exceeding the set speed

By pressing the accelerator pedal, it is possible to temporarily exceed the set speed (the set speed displayed flashes).

To return to the set speed, release the accelerator pedal (when this speed is reached again, the displayed speed becomes steady).

Operating limits

Never use the system in the following situations:

- In urban areas where pedestrians may cross the road.

- In heavy traffic (except versions with Stop & Go function).

- On winding or steep roads.

- On slippery or flooded road surfaces.

- In adverse weather conditions.

- When visibility is reduced for the driver.

- When driving on a racetrack.

- When driving on a rolling road (dynamometer).

- When using a temporary spare wheel ("space saver").

- When using snow chains, anti-skid covers or studded tyres.
