Active lane departure warning
For more information, refer to the General Recommendations for driving and manoeuvring aids.
The system corrects the vehicle's path by alerting the driver as soon as it detects a risk of unintentional crossing of a line or of the road edge (depending on version).
To do this, the system uses a camera, located on the upper part of the windscreen, which identifies road markings and road edges (depending on version).
The use of this system is especially optimal on motorways and expressways.

Operating conditions
- Vehicle speed between 70 km/h and 180 km/h.
- Traffic lane delimited by a centre line.
- Steering wheel held with both hands.
- Turn signal indicators off when the system is activated.
- ESC system activated and operating.
The system assists the driver only when the vehicle risks unintentionally leaving the lane it is travelling in. It does not manage the safe following distance, speed or braking.
The driver must hold the steering wheel with both hands at all times so as to keep control as soon as the situation no longer allows the system to intervene (e.g., if the centre line marking disappears).
Operation
As soon as the system detects a risk of unintentionally crossing one of the detected road markings, it performs the necessary course correction to return the vehicle to its original lane.
The driver then feels a rotational movement of the steering wheel.
This indicator flashes for the duration of the correction.
The driver can prevent the correction by holding the steering wheel firmly (e.g., during an evasive manoeuvre).
The correction is interrupted as soon as the turn signal indicators are activated.

While the turn signal indicators are activated and for a few seconds after they are switched off, the system considers a deviation from the path to be intentional and does not trigger any correction during this period.
However, with the Blind Spot Monitoring system activated, if the driver is about to change lane while another vehicle is detected in the blind spots of the vehicle, a course correction is initiated by the system despite the activation of the turn signal indicators.
For more information on the Blind Spot Monitoring system, refer to the corresponding section.
If the system detects that the driver is not holding the steering wheel sufficiently during an automatic correction manoeuvre, it interrupts this manoeuvre.
A warning is triggered to prompt the driver to regain control of the vehicle.
Driving situations and associated warnings
The table below describes the warnings and messages displayed according to driving situations.
The actual display order of these warnings may differ.

Operating limits
The system automatically goes into standby in the following cases:
- ESC system deactivated or being regulated.
- Speed below 70 km/h or above 180 km/h.
- Trailer electrical connection.
- Detection of use of a "space-saver" temporary spare wheel (detection is not immediate; it is recommended to deactivate the function).
- Detection of dynamic driving behaviour, brake or accelerator pedal pressure.
- Driving over the road markings.
- Turn signal activation.
- Crossing the inner line of a bend.
- Driving through a tight bend.
- Detection of driver inactivity during a correction.
The system may be disturbed or may not operate in the following situations:
- Insufficient contrast between the road surface and the road edges (e.g., shadow).
- Road markings worn, obscured (snow, mud) or multiple (roadworks).
- Short distance to the vehicle ahead (road markings cannot be detected).
- Narrow, winding roads.
Risk of unwanted activations
The system must be deactivated in the following situations:
- During a wheel change or any work near a wheel.
- Towing or bicycle carrier on a towbar, especially with an unconnected or non-approved trailer.
- Road surface in poor condition, unstable or with very low grip (risk of aquaplaning, snow, ice).
- Unfavourable weather conditions.
- Driving on high-speed circuits.
- Driving on a roller dynamometer.
Deactivation / Activation

► At any time, press this button to deactivate / reactivate the system.
Deactivation is indicated by the lighting of the button indicator and this warning light in the instrument cluster.
The system is automatically reactivated each time the ignition is switched on.
Malfunction
In the event of a malfunction, these warning lights come on in the instrument cluster, accompanied by a message and an audible signal.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
