Driving modes
The available driving modes depend on the engine and the vehicle's equipment.
Driving modes are selected using the following control (depending on version):

1. Pressing the control activates Eco mode.
The indicator light comes on.
2. Pressing the control displays the modes in the instrument cluster.
The selected mode is activated immediately.
With Advanced Grip Control, additional driving modes are available.
For more information on Advanced Grip Control, refer to the relevant section.
With petrol / diesel engines
When the ignition is switched on, Normal driving mode is selected by default.
Eco
To reduce energy consumption by reducing the performance of the heating and air conditioning, without switching them off.
Normal
To restore the default settings.
Sport
For a more dynamic drive, with adjustments to the steering assistance, accelerator response and gear shifting with an automatic gearbox.
Freewheel mode
Depending on version or engine, with the EAT8 gearbox and the gear selector in D mode, outside Sport mode, gradually then fully releasing the accelerator pedal puts the vehicle into freewheel mode to save fuel.
A drop in engine speed is then normal (tachometer at idle, reduced engine noise).
With plug-in hybrid engine
When the ignition is switched on, Electric driving mode is selected by default.
Electric
For driving powered 100% by electric energy. The maximum speed is approximately 135 km/h.
At start-up, if conditions do not allow Electric mode to be activated or maintained, the message “Electric mode currently unavailable” appears in the instrument cluster. The vehicle automatically switches to Hybrid mode.
The LED below the interior mirror, visible from outside the vehicle, confirms driving in Electric mode (depending on destination).
It is possible to deactivate the LED light by inserting the tip of a paper clip-type tool into the hole located under the interior rear-view mirror.
Activation conditions
- Battery charge level sufficient.
It is therefore recommended to plug in the vehicle after each trip. Electric mode is available as long as there is energy left in the battery.
- Outside temperature between approximately -5°C and 45°C.
Manual exit from mode
► Fully press the accelerator pedal, or ► Select another mode.
If the vehicle is not used for a long period (several months), the petrol engine may restart even if the battery is charged.
If the combustion engine is started several times in succession without reaching sufficient operating temperature, Electric mode may be temporarily unavailable (natural phenomenon of fuel dilution in the engine oil).
The message "Electric mode unavailable: automatic operation in progress" then appears in the instrument panel.
To restore normal electric operation, drive approximately 80 km in motorway conditions or approximately 200 km in urban conditions.
This phenomenon does not cause any mechanical or electrical damage. It may occur several times during the life of the vehicle.
Hybrid
To optimise the vehicle's fuel consumption by managing the alternating or simultaneous operation of the two types of engine, depending on driving conditions and driving style.
In Hybrid mode, depending on speed, it is possible to drive in 100% electric mode if the battery charge level is sufficient and acceleration demands are moderate.
Sport
To obtain more dynamic driving in order to make the most of the vehicle's maximum performance.
The electric motor supplements the petrol engine as long as there is energy left in the battery.
