Flywheel Ring Gear Balancing
GENERAL INFORMATION

Balance Weight Locations on the Disc. The disc is balanced using weights attached to the edges of the disc holes.
PROCEDURE.
1. Mark the disc at four points spaced 90 degrees apart.
2. Install a balance weight at one of the marked points.
Inspection
PROCEDURE.
Start the engine, place the gearbox selector in neutral, and monitor the vibrations. If the vibrations increased, move the
balance weight 180°. If the vibrations decreased, install an additional weight next to the first one. If the vibrations remained at the same level, move the balance weight 90°. Continue similar operations until the vibration is reduced. Fine balancing is achieved by making small movements of the weights.
Warning.
Check that the balance weights are securely fixed to prevent their displacement
at high crankshaft speeds.
