GENERAL INFORMATION

Mating surface for installing oil pan A. APPLY SEALANT TO JOINT SURFACE

Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Raise and support the vehicle.

3. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil from the pan.

4. Bolts 128 and oil pan

Clean.

PROCEDURE.

1. Mating surfaces of cylinder block and pan.

2. Oil pan and bolt holes.

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Oil pan 125 with new gasket

124. Coat gasket 124 with sealant.

2. Apply sealant to the pan mating surface.

3. Oil pan mounting bolts 128. Tighten bolts to torque 5 N·m.

4. Drain plug

126. Tighten to torque 45 N·m.

5. Connect exhaust pipe to exhaust system.

6. Lower the vehicle.

7. Fill with engine oil.

8. Connect the negative battery cable.
