GENERAL INFORMATION.

Deviation from normal clearances may be caused by the following reasons.

– wear of the rocker arm working surface.

– hydraulic lash adjuster plunger sticking in the lowered position due to contamination or carbon deposits.

– failure of the lifter with hydraulic lash adjuster.

To reduce the likelihood of sticking, clean the tappet parts of dirt and varnish deposits. During assembly, install all tappet parts in their places, without disturbing the set and running-in of the parts.
