Intake Manifold and Gasket

GENERAL INFORMATION

Intake manifold A. FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR VACUUM HOSE.

B. BRAKE BOOSTER HOSE.

C. AIR CONDITIONER RECEIVER VACUUM HOSE.

D. CANISTER VACUUM HOSE.

E. INTAKE MANIFOLD PRESSURE SENSOR VACUUM HOSE.

F. CRANKCASE VENTILATION HOSE.

G. CANISTER PURGE HOSE.

56. THROTTLE BODY.

LOOSENING SEQUENCE OF FASTENERS 9–8–7–6–5–4–3–2–1.

TIGHTENING SEQUENCE 1–2–3–4–5–6–7–8–9

Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Lower radiator hose..

2. Drain coolant..

3. Move alternator aside..

4. Disconnect the throttle body and throttle cable from the intake

manifold bracket..

5. All vacuum hoses from throttle body and intake manifold..

6. Electrical connectors from terminals on throttle body..

7. Fuel lines from throttle body (supply and return)..

8. Cooling system hose from throttle body..

9. Remove upper nuts, then lower bolts of intake manifold, remove washers..

10. Intake manifold 53 with gasket 52.

11. Mating surfaces of cylinder head and intake manifold..

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Intake manifold 53 with new gasket

52..

2. Install nuts and bolts with washers, tighten to 22 N·m..

3. Cooling system hose to throttle body..

4. Fuel lines to throttle body (supply and return).

5. Electrical connectors to terminals on throttle body..

6. All vacuum hoses to throttle body and intake manifold.

7. Throttle body and throttle cable to intake manifold bracket

manifold..

8. Alternator..

9. Lower radiator hose..

10. Fill coolant.
