Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Remove camshaft housing cover 6.

2. Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. Install the special tool.

3. Spark plugs.

20. To hold the valves, supply compressed air to the engine cylinders through adapters screwed into the spark plug holes.

4. Rocker arms 36, hydraulic lash adjusters 37, valve keepers 34, spring caps 39, valve springs 32 and

seals.

Warning.

Compress the valve springs.

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Install plastic sleeves onto the valve stems after lubricating them with engine

oil.

2. New seals 38 onto the valve stems. Install valve spring seats onto the valve guides.

30. Remove installation sleeves.

3. Valve springs 32, spring caps 39, valve keepers

4. Install rocker arms 36 and hydraulic lash adjusters 37 in their original positions.

5. Remove the tool and install the spark plugs.

6. Camshaft housing cover 6.
