Measuring valve stem height with the gauge

1. MINIMUM CLEARANCE BETWEEN GAUGE AND VALVE STEM TIP IS 0.38 MM (0.38 MM FLAT FEELER GAUGE IS INCLUDED IN CARBURETOR REPAIR KIT VT-3005.

2. MEASURING GAUGE.

3. GAUGE SUPPORT SURFACES ON CYLINDER HEAD MUST BE SMOOTH AND CLEAN

Valve stem height must not exceed the specified value, see illustration.

Measuring valve stem height with the gauge. To measure valve stem height, use tool DT12003 (measuring gauge). If the distance from the valve stem tip to the gauge is large, additionally grind the valve and seat faces. If the valve height exceeds the permissible dimension, replace the cylinder head with seats.

Warning.

Do not shorten the valve stem by grinding the stem tip.
