REMOVAL
PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
If the vehicle is equipped with a radio with an anti-theft code, make sure you have the correct code to reactivate the audio system before disconnecting the battery!
2. Apply penetrating oil to the manifold fasteners.
3. Chock the rear wheels. Apply the parking brake and move the AT selector lever to the "P" position. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it on safety stands. Remove the lower splash shield.

4. Disconnect the exhaust pipes from the exhaust manifolds.
It is also advisable to apply penetrating oil to the pipe fasteners in advance.

5. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the heat shields from the exhaust manifolds (it is also advisable to apply penetrating oil to the fasteners in advance).

6. Remove the self-locking nuts and remove the manifolds from the cylinder heads.
Self-locking nuts must be replaced during installation.
7. Carefully inspect both manifolds and their fasteners for cracks and other mechanical damage. Replace any defective parts.
