PROCEDURE

1. Position the No. 1 piston at top dead center (TDC) of the compression stroke (refer to No. 1 Piston Top Dead Center (TDC) Positioning). Remove the cylinder head cover (refer to Cylinder Head Cover Removal and Installation).

2. Press the intermediate rocker arm of the intake valve assembly for cylinder No. 1 with your finger. It must move independently of the primary and secondary rocker arms of the assembly (see illustration). In the same order, check the operation of the intake valve rocker arms of the remaining cylinders (move the corresponding pistons to TDC).
