PROCEDURE

1. Remove the cylinder head cover (see Cylinder Head Cover Removal and Installation).
2. Set the No. 1 cylinder piston to TDC (see Setting No. 1 Cylinder Piston to Top Dead Center (TDC)), and remove the timing belt (see Timing Belt and Timing Belt Drive Sprockets Removal, Inspection and Installation).

3. Loosen the rocker shaft mounting bolts by 1/4 turn each to relieve the spring pressure from the valve springs. Follow the sequence opposite to that shown in the illustration.
