Replacing the Engine Coolant (Service every 60000 km or 2 years)

~1min read

GENERAL INFORMATION

Warning Perform this procedure only on a completely cold engine, observing safety precautions for handling toxic fluids.

PROCEDURE

1. Carefully remove the radiator cap, wrapping it with a rag.

2. Move the heater control lever to the "hot" position.

3. Отверните сливную пробку радиатора (указана стрелкой).

3. Remove the radiator drain plug (indicated by the arrow).

4. Drain the coolant into a container, taking care that the coolant does not contact the drive belts or rubber components.

5. If necessary, remove the expansion tank, drain the remaining coolant, and flush it.

6. Подставьте сосуд под сливную пробку блока цилиндров (указана стрелкой).

6. Place a container under the cylinder block drain plug (indicated by the arrow).

7. Отверните пробку на блоке цилиндров, затем отверните штуцера для удаления

7. Remove the cylinder block plug, then loosen the bleed fittings (fitting indicated by the arrow). Drain the coolant from the cylinder block.

8. Install the drain plug, fill the radiator with clean water. After the water starts to drain from the engine, install and tighten the cylinder block drain plug.

9. Continue filling with water until water flows out of the bleed holes. Install the bleed hole plugs and tighten to the specified torque.

10. Top up the water to the MAX mark of the coolant reservoir, install the radiator cap securely.

11. Start the engine and warm it up until the cooling fan operates. Raise the engine speed to 3000 rpm 2–3 times, stop the engine and wait until it has cooled down completely.

12. Repeat steps 3–11 until the drained water is clean.

13. Drain the water and repeat steps 8–10, but this time fill with antifreeze in the specified proportion. Apply thread sealant to the cylinder block drain plug and tighten to the specified torque.

14. Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature, stop the engine and wait until it has cooled down completely.

15. Check for leaks from the disconnected connections. Check the coolant level in the reservoir and top up if necessary.
