Always use the automatic mode selector button to improve fuel economy and reduce engine load. When the coolant temperature is low, automatic shifting into 4th gear will not occur even if the button is pressed.

Maximum Allowable Speeds
In position "2" - 113 km/h
In position "L" - 65 km/h

Engine Braking

To use engine braking, downshift the transmission as follows.
Turn off the automatic mode selector button (this is effective only when driving with the lever in position "D"). The "O/D Off" indicator light will illuminate and the transmission will shift into 3rd gear.
