Tailgate

GENERAL INFORMATION
Trunk lid (sedan without trunk security system) or liftgate (hatchback)

To open the trunk lid or liftgate from the outside, insert the main key into the lock and turn it clockwise. For safety precautions to observe when loading the trunk, refer to
Subsection 1.5.54.
To close, lower the trunk lid or liftgate and press down. Check that it is securely closed by pulling up on the lid or door.
Trunk lid (sedan equipped with trunk security system)
To open the trunk lid, insert the main key into the lock and turn it clockwise. To close the trunk lid, lower the lid and press down. Check that it is securely closed by pulling up on the lid.

When the key is turned counterclockwise, the trunk lid lock latch will no longer engage. Always use this method when storing items in the trunk while parked.

To open the trunk lid or liftgate from the driver's seat, pull up the lever located under the seat.
