Door Lock and Power Door Lock Systems

GENERAL INFORMATION

Locking the Door with the Key

To lock the door, turn the key toward the front of the vehicle (direction indicated by the arrow). To unlock, turn it toward the rear. On vehicles equipped with power door locks, all passenger doors and the back door (wagon body only) lock and unlock at the same time as the driver's door.

Locking the Door with the Lock Button (except 3-door hatchback)

To lock the door, press the lock button. To unlock the door, pull up the lock button. To lock the door from outside, press the lock button, then close the door. When closing the door, hold the door handle pressed. Do not forget to take the keys out of the vehicle when closing the door.

Locking the Door with the Inside Door Handle Lever (3-door hatchback)

To lock the door (upper illustration), turn the lever forward. To unlock (lower illustration), turn the lever backward. On vehicles equipped with power door locks, the driver's door can be opened from the inside even when the lever is in the locked position. To lock the door from outside, set the lever to the locked position, then close the door. When closing the door, hold the door handle pressed. Do not forget to take the keys out of the vehicle when closing the door.

Locking the Door with the Power Door Lock Switch

To lock all doors and the back door (wagon body only) at the same time, press the switch on the Lock side. To unlock, press the switch on the Unlock side.

Vehicles equipped with power windows (except 3-door hatchback)
Left arrow – unlock
Right arrow – lock

Vehicles equipped with power windows (3-door hatchback)
Left arrow – unlock
Right arrow – lock

Vehicles without power windows
Left arrow – unlock
Right arrow – lock

Locking with the Rear Door Child Safety Lock, which prevents opening from inside
Turn the lever to the door lock position (Lock), as shown on the label next to the lever.

The rear door child safety lock is a body design feature that prevents the door from being opened from the inside.
It is recommended to use the child safety lock when small children are in the vehicle.

* Before driving, make sure that all doors are closed.

If small children are seated in the rear seat, use the child safety lock to
prevent the door from being unintentionally opened from the inside while
the vehicle is moving.
If the doors are unlocked at the time of an accident, they can be opened from the outside.

Door Electrical Equipment

GENERAL INFORMATION
Each door is equipped with an electric power window motor.

The windows can be raised and lowered when the ignition key is in the On position.
