Fuel
Selecting the correct fuel grade is an essential condition for keeping the engine in good working order.
The manufacturer does not accept warranty obligations or claims for engine failure caused by refueling with an incorrect fuel grade.
Fuel Grade
Vehicles with 4E-FE, 4A-FE and 7A-FE gasoline engines must be refueled only with unleaded gasoline.
Vehicles with the 2E engine may be refueled with leaded gasoline only when unleaded gasoline is not available.
Vehicles with diesel engines must be refueled only with diesel fuel.
To prevent refueling with leaded gasoline, vehicles with 4E-FE, 4A-FE and 7A-FE engines are equipped with a fuel tank filler neck of smaller
diameter, which accepts only the fuel nozzle used at unleaded gasoline pumps.
* Do not refuel vehicles with 4E-FE, 4A-FE and 7A-FE engines with leaded gasoline. Otherwise the catalytic converter will fail and the exhaust emission control system will stop functioning.
In addition, vehicle maintenance costs will increase.
Octane (Cetane) Number of Gasoline
Use only gasoline with the octane (or cetane) number specified below.
Using gasoline with a lower octane number will cause increased knocking.
Severe knocking will damage the engine.
If severe knocking occurs even with the recommended fuel grade, or when driving on a level road, contact an authorized service workshop.
However, brief knocking during acceleration or when climbing a hill is permissible.
For gasoline engines of type 2E – premium gasoline with an octane number of not less than 91 (research method); for types 4E-FE, 4A-FE and 7A-FE – high-grade unleaded gasoline with an octane number of not less than 95 (research method).
For diesel engines – fuel with a cetane number of not less than 48.
Fuel tank capacity – 50 L.
