Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)

~1min read
The DRL system is provided on vehicles intended for the Canadian market and automatically turns on the headlamps while the engine is running. The headlamps can be turned off without stopping the engine by applying the parking brake. After the parking brake is released, the headlamps will remain on until the ignition is turned off, even if the brake is applied again.
When the DRL system is active, the headlamps operate in an economy mode, which prevents premature bulb failure.
