For R-type modifications only. The lamps installed in the low beam headlights are gas-discharge xenon high-voltage tubes (D2S).
Before servicing any vehicle electrical components, read and observe all electrical safety precautions.
The vehicle is equipped with a 12-volt electrical system with negative-ground polarity. Power for the lights and other electrical consumers is supplied by a lead-acid battery, which is recharged by the alternator.
This section describes repair and service procedures for electrical components installed on the vehicle that are not directly related to engine operation.
Before servicing any electrical components, disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electric shock or fire caused by accidental short circuits. Regularly check the condition of wiring harnesses and make sure they are secured at intermediate clips, brackets and ties. Make sure wire insulation is not rubbed through by contact with adjacent components.
If the vehicle stereo system is equipped with an anti-theft code, make sure you have the correct code to activate the audio system before disconnecting the battery!
