Inspection and Replacement of Windshield Wiper Blades
PROCEDURE
1. Periodically check the condition of the wiper arms and blades, and check for damage, loose connections, as well as cracks and wear of the wiper blade rubber.
2. During operation, dirt and dust build up on the wiper blade rubber, reducing wiping efficiency. Therefore, wash the blades regularly with a mild detergent solution.
3. During operation of the wiper mechanism, threaded connections (bolts, nuts, mounting brackets) gradually loosen. Therefore, the wiper mechanism requires periodic inspection and retightening of these connections. It is also advisable to check the condition of the blades at the same time.
4. If cracks, signs of wear or deformation are found on the wiper blade rubber, or if the blades no longer clean the glass properly, replace them with new ones.

5. Remove the wiper blade assemblies from the arms: press the latch, then pull the blade assembly off the arm while tilting it at the bent section.

6. Pull out the wiper blade element from the right side of the blade frame.

7. Insert the new wiper blade element into the right side of the blade frame so that the small ridges on the blade engage the clip of the blade frame. Slide the blade in until it is fully seated in the frame, then secure it by pressing the ridges under the frame clip.
