Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve and Hose
PROCEDURE
1. The PCV valve and hose are located on the cylinder head cover.

2. Firmly grasp and remove the PCV valve from the side of the cylinder head cover.
3. With the warmed-up engine idling, place your finger over the PCV valve opening. Lack of vacuum indicates a clogged valve or hose. Replace a clogged or damaged hose.

4. Stop the engine. Remove the valve core from the hose. Fit a section of clean hose onto the valve core and blow through the valve core from the side that goes into the cylinder head cover. Air must pass freely through
the valve core. If air does not pass, replace the valve core. Then blow from the opposite side and make sure that air passes with difficulty.
5. When purchasing a new valve core, make sure it matches the vehicle model and engine type. Compare the new valve core with the one being replaced and make sure that they are exactly the same.
