Manual Transmission Oil Level Inspection

PROCEDURE

1. The manual transmission has no dipstick for checking the oil level. To check the level, raise the vehicle and support it on stands. The level check and filler opening is located at the front of the transmission case. Remove the plug (the unscrewing direction is indicated by the arrow). Check the oil level with a finger. The oil level must be even with the lower edge of the check opening.
2. If the oil level is low (does not reach the edge of the opening), add oil using a funnel or a syringe. Add oil until it begins to flow out of the lower edge of the check opening.
3. Install and tighten the plug securely. Drive the vehicle briefly and check that there are no oil leaks from the transmission.
