Driveshaft Boot Inspection
PROCEDURE
1. The condition of the driveshaft boot significantly affects the serviceability of the CV joint, as it prevents dirt and water from entering this joint.
2. Grease on the boot causes premature failure of this component, so it is recommended to wash the boot with soapy water. The outer boot wears faster because it is constantly deformed (compressed and extended) when the wheel turns. Therefore, the condition of the outer boot must be checked regularly.

3. Squeeze the folds of the driveshaft boot and check the boots for mechanical damage (tears and cracks), signs of grease, and clamp tightness. If damage or grease is found, replace the boots (see Subsection 8.3.1).
