Description and Operation
Description
The electric WGT actuator is installed on the turbocharger. It pushes the wing in the Regulated Turbocharger Wastegate (RGT) and controls the amount of compressed air via the PWM signal from the ECM. The actuator consists of a DC motor that moves the wing, a 2-stage reduction gear that increases the DC motor torque, a position sensor that detects the wing position, and an electronic control unit that controls the DC motor.
