Fuse and Relay Box
PROCEDURE

Fuse and relay box on models produced before 07.1989

Fuse and relay box on models produced from 08.1989
The fuse and relay box is located in the left shelf 1 (see figure Upper Shelf Mounting) under the instrument panel and is covered by cover 4. The rated current value is marked on the fuse body. In addition, the fuse body is colored according to its rated current.
Warning: From 08.89 on Jetta models and from 08.89 on Golf models, the fuse and relay box was changed.
The fuse and relay box contains spare fuses under the fuses, and tweezers for removing fuses from the contact sockets. Do not replace fuses with wire or similar means, as this may cause serious damage to the electrical system.
