PROCEDURE

Installing the Wiper Motor Arm 1 – arm; 2 – bracket

Removal PROCEDURE 1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. 2. Remove both wiper arms 14 (see illustration Windshield Wiper) (see subsection 12.8.1). 3. Remove the wiper mechanism protective cover. 4. Unscrew nuts 10 on both shafts. 5. Disconnect the wires from wiper motor 4. 6. Unscrew bolt 6 and remove bracket 1 together with the motor, shafts and links. 7. Remove links 9. 8. Unscrew nut 17 from the motor shaft. 9. Remove motor arm 18. 10. Unscrew three bolts 16. 11. Remove motor 4. Installation PROCEDURE 1. Install motor 4 on bracket 1 and tighten bolts 16. 2. Position arm 18 as shown in the illustration Installing the Wiper Motor Arm, and tighten nut 17 (see illustration Windshield Wiper). Install bolt 6 with washer, but do not tighten fully. 3. Install links 9. 4. Insert rubber bushing 5 into the hole of bracket 1. 5. Install washer 7 on the shafts. 6. Install bracket 1 assembly on the body, guiding the shafts into spacer bushing 8 installed in rubber bushing 5. 7. Tighten nuts 10 to 7 N·m. 8. Connect the wires to motor 4. 9. Install wiper arms 14 (see subsection 12.8.1). 10. Connect the cable to the negative battery terminal. 11. Check the wiper operation.
