PROCEDURE

Транзисторная

Transistor Ignition System 1 – control unit; 2 – coil bracket; 3 – ignition coil; 4 – terminal "15" (+); 5 – terminal "4"; 6 – terminal "1" (-); 7 – earth lead to battery negative terminal; 8 – distributor cap retaining spring; 9 – vacuum advance unit; 10 – distributor holder; 11 – gasket; 12 – distributor body; 13 – stationary plate; 14 – washer; 15 – Hall sensor (control pulse sensor); 16 – connector socket; 17 – screw; 18 – connector block; 19 – spark plug; 20 – retaining ring; 21 – spark plug boot; 22 – dust shield; 23 – rotor arm; 24 – contact carbon; 25 – distributor cap; 26 – shield; 27 – earth lead; 28 – armature

Removal PROCEDURE 1. Disconnect the earth lead from the battery negative terminal. 2. Disconnect the high-tension leads from the distributor. 3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum advance unit 9.

4. Turn the crankshaft to the TDC position of the No. 1 piston (see item 9 of subsection 2.2.2).

The rotor arm 23 must stop opposite the mark (notch) on the distributor body, as shown in the illustration. 5. Disconnect connector block 18. 6. Unscrew the holder bolt and remove holder 10. 7. Lift the ignition distributor up and out. Installation PROCEDURE 1. Install the distributor in the reverse order. During installation, the crankshaft must be positioned with the No. 1 piston at TDC.

2. Turn the distributor shaft so that the rotor arm is opposite the mark on the distributor body. 3. Turn the oil pump drive shaft so that the lug on the shaft is parallel to the engine crankshaft. 4. If, after installing the distributor, the rotor arm is not opposite the mark on the body, turn the distributor until the rotor arm aligns with the mark, and only then tighten the distributor mounting bolts. 5. After installing the distributor, adjust the ignition timing advance.
