GENERAL INFORMATION

Power steering pump

1. SNAP RING.

2. COVER.

3. O-RING.

4. PUMP STATOR.

5. PUMP ROTOR.

6. VANES (10 PCS.).

7. LOCATING PIN (2 PCS.).

8. DISTRIBUTOR COVER.

9. PRESSURE SPRING.

10. BUSHING.

11. PUMP HOUSING.

12. SUCTION PIPE.

13. SHAFT SEAL.

14. PUMP SHAFT.

15. BALL BEARING.

16. SNAP RING.

17. FITTING (WITH O-RING).

18. VALVE ASSEMBLY

Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Belt..

2. Remove 3 bolts and remove the pump pulley..

3. Disconnect the hoses (pressure and suction) from the pump..

4. Release 9 clips and remove the upper timing belt cover.

rocker arm cover..

5. Pump..

6. Remove the hub from the pump..

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Install the hub on the pump..

2. Pump. Tighten the pump mounting bolts to 25 N·m..

3. Connect the hoses (pressure and suction) to the pump..

4. Pulley, install 3 bolts. Tighten the pump pulley bolts to 27 N·m.

5. Pump drive belt..

6. Fill the system with new power steering fluid..

7. Bleed air from the power steering hydraulic system..

Inspection

PROCEDURE.

Check for fluid leaks. If leaks are found, eliminate the cause of the malfunction and bleed air from the hydraulic system.
