Driving the Vehicle

~1min read

Running the engine at idle in a garage is dangerous, even if the garage doors are open. Do not run the engine in a garage longer than necessary to start the engine and drive the vehicle out of the garage.

If it is necessary to run the engine at idle for an extended period while occupants are in the vehicle, park the vehicle in an open, well-ventilated area, set the air intake control to the fresh air position, and set the blower to one of the high speeds to refresh the air entering the cabin.

If you have to drive with the rear door/tailgate open because you are carrying oversized cargo, do the following:

– close all windows;
– open the side vents;
– set the air intake control to the fresh air position, set the air distribution control to the (floor or face) position, and set the blower to one of the high speeds.

To ensure proper operation of the ventilation system, keep the air intake vents located in front of the windshield free of snow, ice, leaves, or other objects.
