If the engine does not crank or cranks very slowly
If the vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission, move the selector to "P" or "N" and apply the parking brake. Check the wire connections to the battery terminals to make sure they are clean and tight. Turn on the interior light. If the light dims or goes out when the starter is engaged, the battery is discharged. Check the starter wire connections for tightness.
Do not start the engine by towing the vehicle.
