Shift Lever Positions

When engaging reverse gear, after the vehicle has come to a complete stop, hold the shift lever in neutral for at least 3 seconds. Then move the lever to the reverse position.
When shifting the lever from 5th gear to 4th gear, be careful not to accidentally engage 2nd gear. Such an abrupt shift may cause excessive engine speed (tachometer needle in the red zone) and may damage the engine.
