Power Steering Pump Removal and Installation
PROCEDURE
1. To minimize hydraulic fluid loss, pinch off the supply hose of the power steering pump.
2. On V6 models, remove the intake manifold cover.

3. Disconnect the supply hose and the pressure line from the pump. Note the difference between the supply and pressure line hoses: the first is secured to the pump by a spring-type clamp, while the fitting of the second has two bolts. To prevent dirt from entering the system, immediately plug the open ends of the disconnected lines.

4. Remove the mounting bolt and adjusting bolt of the power steering pump. Remove the pump.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal. When connecting the pressure line, replace the fitting O-ring. Upon completion, be sure to bleed air from the steering system (refer to Air Removal from the Power Steering Hydraulic System) and adjust the drive belt tension (refer to Maintenance and Adjustments).
