Repair of Severely Damaged Body Panels

This type of repair is usually performed using welding equipment and should be carried out in an auto repair shop.

In the case of extensive damage, first check whether body panels have been displaced or deformed in a way that could affect vehicle handling or cause accelerated wear of any of its operating components (for example, the tires).

Since most body parts (hood, fenders, etc.) are supplied as separate sections, restoring them after severe damage is not practical. It is often much more reasonable and economical to find a suitable replacement part, which can be obtained not only from automotive accessory stores but also from salvage yards or junkyards, which can sometimes significantly reduce costs.
