Rear Bumper Cover Removal and Installation
The vehicles covered in this Manual are equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). Before performing any work near the airbag module, steering column, or instrument panel, disable the SRS to prevent injury from accidental deployment (see Section Body Electrical System). SRS wiring can be easily identified by its yellow insulation.
PROCEDURE
1. If necessary, raise the rear of the vehicle and support it on stands.

2. Under the vehicle, remove the plastic retainers securing the lower edge of the rear bumper cover.

3. Remove the bolt and release the retainer securing each end of the cover to the rear wheel arches.

4. Open the luggage compartment lid and release the retainers securing the upper edge of the bumper cover from inside the luggage compartment.
Use a small screwdriver to pry up the center sections of the plastic retainers (do not attempt to fully remove the center sections - they remain in the retainer). Remove the cover from the vehicle.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
