Removal and Installation of Door Position

Wear gloves to protect your hands from cuts when working through the access holes in the door frame.

Vehicle doors are heavy, so it is advisable to have an assistant help you.

PROCEDURE

1. Lower the window fully, then disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Open the door fully and support it with a jack or wooden blocks.
3. Remove the interior door trim panel and water shield (refer to Removal and Installation of Door Trim Panels).
4. Mark and disconnect all electrical connectors, then release the wiring harness from the clips on the door assembly.
5. From the door side, detach the rubber guide tube routed between the door and the body. Remove the wiring harness passed through the guide tube and take it off the door.

6. Remove the bolt securing the door check strap.

7. Trace the hinge plates with a marker to record their position on the door.
8. Have an assistant support the door, then remove the hinge plate bolts. With two people, lift the door off the vehicle.

9. Installation is performed in the reverse order.
