Every 5000 km (3000 miles) or every three months, lubricate the hinges and the latch assemblies of the doors, hood, and luggage compartment lid with a few drops of light engine oil or a special lock lubricant. Striker plates should be lubricated with grease to reduce wear and ensure reliable operation. For lubricating lock assemblies, it is best to use a special graphite lubricant supplied in aerosol cans.
