PROCEDURE


The hood panel is quite heavy, so an assistant is required.
1. Open the hood, then cover the fenders with special protective pads or old blankets to protect them from damage during hood removal.
2. Disconnect all cables and wires that interfere with hood removal. Also disconnect the washer fluid hoses from the washer nozzles mounted on the hood.

3. Using a marker or scribe, outline the hinge plates to ensure correct alignment of the hood during installation.

4. Попросите помощника подержать капот и (на моделях V6) отпустите фиксаторы

4. Ask an assistant to support the hood, then (on V6 models) release the retainers and disconnect the hood support struts from the hinges on both sides of the hood.

5. With the assistant still supporting the hood, remove the bolts securing the hinge plates to the hood. Together, lift the hood off.
6. Install in the reverse order. When installing the original hood, make sure the hinge plates are positioned according to the marks made during removal. If a new hood has been installed, adjust its position.
