Troubleshooting the electrical system
When locating a fault in the electrical system, it is important to work systematically. This applies both when checking failed bulbs and when electric motors do not run.
The first step is always to check the fuse, if the electrical component is fused. The current fuse assignment can be found on the label on the fuse box cover; see also the section "Replacing fuses".
Replace the blown fuse if necessary and, after switching on the electrical consumer, check whether the fuse blows again immediately. If it does, the fault must first be located and rectified; as a rule, this is a short circuit. This means that at some point, sometimes also inside the electrical component, the earth and positive connections are joined together.
Second test step: if the fuse is intact but the bulb does not light or the electric motor does not start, check the power supply.
