When working on the three-phase alternator, observe several points to avoid damage to the system.

Complete disassembly and overhaul of the three-phase alternator should be carried out by a specialist workshop.

  • If an additional battery (e.g. as a jump starter) is connected, make sure that the same battery poles are connected to each other.

  • When connecting a battery charger, connect the charger leads to the correct battery terminals. Disconnect the ground strap and positive cable from the battery during charging.

  • Do not run the engine without the battery connected.

  • Never short-circuit the terminals on the alternator and regulator.

  • Do not reverse the polarity of the three-phase alternator.
