Air Conditioner Operating Tips
If the air inside the vehicle is too hot, open all windows for a few minutes to cool the air in the passenger compartment.
When the air conditioner is operating, keep all windows closed to prevent hot air from entering the passenger compartment.
When driving slowly, for example in a traffic jam, shift to a lower gear. This increases the engine crankshaft speed, which in turn increases the speed of the air conditioner compressor.
On steep grades, switch off the air conditioner to eliminate the possibility of engine overheating.
In winter, or during periods of irregular air conditioner use, run the air conditioner for a few minutes once a month. This prevents deterioration of lubrication of the internal compressor components and keeps the air conditioning system in good condition.
