Older Children

~1min read

Children who have outgrown child seats should be seated in the rear seats and secured with the lap and shoulder seat belt.

Pull the lap/shoulder belt snug and position it so that it passes below the abdomen and below the upper part of the pelvic bone. Check the seat belt tension periodically. If an older child (over 13 years old) is seated in the front passenger seat, they must be securely fastened with the seat belt. Under no circumstances should a child stand on the seat or kneel on it.

In the event of a traffic accident, it is safest for children to be seated in a child seat installed on the rear seat.
